Party for Empowerment

N Street Village fitness volunteer Jaime Andrews of Jaime Andrews Fitness  hosted “ZUMBA Class @ The Dunes: A Party for Empowerment!” on Thursday, May 24thThe event raised close to $500 for N Street Village’s services and programs.  The donated space was filled to capacity with followers of the popular dance-fitness movement as well-known D.C. ZUMBA instructors George Cruz, Eric Ruiz, and Janaina Stanley turned up the heat in a 90-minute dance party. N Street Village alumna Rene Petaway attends ZUMBA classes with her daughter and was excited to exercise while supporting the organization that gave her so much.  Prior to the workout, Rene shared her story with those in attendance. Rene said, “Before I came to N Street Village I was without hope.  Today I have hope.  H for happiness, O for opportunity, P for peace, and E for Empowerment. Now – let’s party for empowerment!” Enjoy a few photos from the evening.
